A Stunning Wedding at Hyatt Regency Danang: Nikki & Brian’s 150-Guest Celebration
Their wedding at Hyatt Regency Danang proved that when love crosses continents, the celebration should too.
How It All Began — 2 Years of Planning from Europe
When a couple from Luxembourg and Hong Kong decides to host a destination wedding at Hyatt Regency Danang, every detail matters — especially when you’re planning from 9,000 kilometers away. Nikki and Brian first connected with our team in 2024, and for the next two years, we became their eyes, ears, and hands on the ground in Da Nang. Almost daily messages, video calls across time zones, vendor shortlisting, budget negotiations — the kind of behind-the-scenes work that turns a dream into a timeline, and a timeline into reality.
The Welcome Dinner — A Taste of Vietnam
Every great wedding at Hyatt Regency Danang deserves a proper overture. Two nights before the ceremony, 112 guests boarded three shuttle buses from the Hyatt lobby to Madame Lan — one of Da Nang’s most beloved Vietnamese restaurants. The evening was designed as a cultural immersion: a sharing-style Vietnamese feast featuring bánh xèo, sour mango seafood salad, and ice-cold Saigon Red beer passed around on arrival. Red and white Italian wines flowed with the main courses while fresh juices were made to order. Nikki, Brian, and their parents arrived early to personally welcome every guest as they stepped off the bus — setting the tone for everything that would follow.
The Tea Ceremony — Where Two Cultures Meet
The morning of April 10th belonged to tradition. Inside the three-bedroom Ocean View Residence at the Hyatt, Nikki and her bridesmaids prepared for a traditional tea ceremony hosted by Cherry. With both families gathered — Brian’s Hong Kong roots meeting Nikki’s heritage — the intimate ritual honored the generations that came before. It was a private, emotional moment that grounded the entire celebration in something deeper than décor and playlists.
Wedding Day Morning — Behind the Scenes
April 11th began at 11:00 AM. In the Bride’s Suite, makeup artist Nho Coco and her team of seven artists transformed Nikki and her seven bridesmaids over three hours. Across the resort, Brian and his five groomsmen had their own behind-the-scenes photo session — relaxed, sharp, and full of the kind of nervous energy only a wedding morning brings.
At 2:00 PM, a buggy carried the couple to the resort’s Spa Area for their first look. A solo violinist named An had already set up and sound-checked, and as Nikki appeared, the music wrapped around the moment like a private soundtrack. The bridal party joined for portraits among the tropical gardens — a calm, joyful interlude before the ceremony.
The Ceremony — Where Promises Met the Sea
By 3:15 PM, guests began arriving at Oceana Garden for the wedding at Hyatt Regency Danang that Nikki and Brian had spent two years envisioning. Brian and the fathers stood at the entrance, greeting guests personally while the violinist performed pre-ceremony music against the sound of waves.
At 4:00 PM, celebrant Leanne Summers invited everyone to stand. Brian walked in with his mother, followed by five groomsmen walking together and seven bridesmaids — led by Nikki’s sisters. The violin played “All of Me” by John Legend.
Then the music shifted. “You Are the Reason” by Callum Scott began, and Nikki appeared with both her mother and father. The aisle led to a round stage framed by a U-shaped floral arch — white blooms and sage greenery with touches of blue, the ocean breeze moving through everything.
Vows were exchanged. Rings were given. A commemorative certificate was signed. And when Leanne declared them husband and wife, the violin broke into “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole as 150 guests rose to their feet.
Cocktail Hour — Relaxed, Playful, Personal
While the couple stole away for a quick touch-up, guests settled into cocktail hour across Oceana Garden. Fresh coconuts were served immediately after the ceremony — a refreshing, tropical touch. Six different canapés circulated, from mini bánh mì to crispy coconut prawns, alongside the couple’s signature cocktails served at a “His & Hers” station.
The energy was easy and social — friends mingling across cocktail tables, posing at the life-sized magazine photo booth, and sipping Espresso Martinis while a curated Spotify playlist played through the garden speakers. This wasn’t a gap between ceremony and dinner — it was its own chapter.
The Dinner Reception — Under the Marquee
As golden hour faded, guests were invited into The Marquee — and the collective reaction was worth every hour of the two-day setup. The open-air structure, measuring 18 by 20 meters with a clear roof cover, had been transformed with ceiling drapery, warm string lights, and flowing curtain styling around the truss columns.
Fifteen round tables dressed in white linens and sage green napkins filled the space. Each table carried its own centerpiece of white and sage florals, flickering candles, vintage table lamps, and custom-designed menus and name tags. At the center, a monogrammed dance floor awaited. The sweetheart table stood at the far end — wrapped in cascading fabric, layered with printed love quotes, names, and wishes that made it feel less like a table and more like a love letter.
HAT Jazz opened their first set as starters arrived — seared Hokkaido scallop with pomelo salad and pork nem lụi with fresh rice noodles. A “Phở Gà” soup followed, reimagined with homemade chicken ravioli. The main course offered a choice between seared cobia with turmeric sauce and Australian beef striploin with beef jus — both paired with mash potato and grilled asparagus. A three-hour free-flow of Heineken, Larue, and Italian wines kept glasses full.
Between courses, the speeches unfolded — bridesmaids and groomsmen first, then parents. Champagne was poured at the bar station and placed at each table just in time for the toasts, with glasses filled to exactly one-third — a detail that speaks to how carefully this evening was choreographed.
The Grand Finale — Cake, Dance, Fireworks
The three-tier wedding cake — elegant white fondant adorned with sculptural petals and baby’s breath — was wheeled to the dance floor as “Treasure” by Bruno Mars played. After the cutting, a tropical fruit tartlet with coconut mousse, mango, and passion fruit was served as dessert.
Then came the bouquet toss, followed by a surprise Pokémon box toss that had guests laughing and scrambling. At 8:50 PM, Nikki and Brian took the floor for their first dance — a custom mix of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” that seamlessly blended into the dance floor playlist, pulling guests onto the floor one by one.
At 9:30 PM, the music paused. “Without You” featuring Usher began at the 45-second mark. On the beach, fireworks erupted into the night sky — a secret moment the couple had planned as a surprise for their guests. It was the kind of scene that makes a wedding at Hyatt Regency Danang unforgettable.
The After Party — Vive Oceana Beach Club
The final chapter moved to Vive Oceana Beach Club, just steps from the reception. DJ Kazho took over, and the party ran until 1:00 AM — shoes off, drinks flowing, the beach underfoot and the stars overhead. It was the perfect ending to a celebration that spanned three days, two cultures, and one extraordinary love story.
